Is your Google Business Profile costing you new patients?

Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a new patient sees. Use this quick checkup to make sure it's helping, not hurting.

Before most people ever see your website, they see your Google Business Profile: the box with your name, photos, hours and reviews that shows up when someone searches for you.

For a lot of practices, it's set up once and forgotten. Here's a quick checkup.

The 8-point checkup

  1. 1.Are your hours right? Including holidays. Wrong hours are the fastest way to lose a new patient.
  2. 2.Does the phone number ring the front desk? Call it and check.
  3. 3.Does the website link work? And does it go to a page that loads fast on a phone?
  4. 4.Is there a booking link? Google lets you add one. Use it.
  5. 5.Are your photos from this decade? Add your current team, office and exterior.
  6. 6.Have you posted lately? Google Business Profile has posts, just like Facebook. Most practices never use them, so the ones that do stand out.
  7. 7.Are you replying to reviews? A short, kind reply to every review shows you're paying attention. Never confirm someone is a patient in your reply.
  8. 8.Are your services listed? Spell out what you do, in the words people search for.

The easy win most practices miss

Number 6. Regular Google posts keep your profile fresh, and they take the same photos you'd post on Facebook or Instagram.

Every 298Digital plan with posts includes your Google Business Profile, every week, alongside Facebook and Instagram. Plus a new website with a 24/7 assistant, so the link on your profile goes somewhere that answers back.
